For those who haven’t yet heard, we moved! We are still working in and around Puyo, but have moved just outside of town, into a house on just over two acres. We came to an agreement with the previous owners and were allowed to move in before the title was transfered, which isn’t always the case here. However, due to some errors with the way the survey was registered with the government, the title transfer took much longer than anyone could have guessed. The seller blamed us for the delay, such that when it came time to sign over the title they refused and threatened to take us to court unless we paid them an extra fee. Taylor has walked alongside and counseled and encouraged other believers through similarly difficult situations, but until now, had never been directly involved. After considering their “fee” versus a lengthy court battle, we decided to pay them off and finalize the contract. God gave us wisdom and grace during this challenging time such that we could be a light and testimony of Christ the various lawyers, government officials, and staff as they watched all of this unfold. Taylor had a lawyer approach him later and ask about “his faith”, and he continues to have discussions with the primary lawyer (Jonathan) who helped us with the paperwork. Please pray for Jonathan and that our lives and attitudes would coroborate the message we’re here to share.
And praise God with us because now the paperwork drama is over and we can go on to other adventures! I am so thankful to get to make a home here! I like to name places; we call it “Shiloh”, which I understand to mean peace and abundance – a gift from God. It has definately been all of those things. It is a peaceful place for our family, even when that “rest” looks like farm chores. 🙂 Apart from the main house, which is reasonably new construction, there are several outbuildings for tools, chickens, etc., and an old abandonded “guest house”. Right now, it’s only suitable to store feed in, but our hope is that we can remodel it into a true guest house for visitors such as yourself! We hope the guest house could also be used for more local hospitality; we would love to periodically invite leaders from some of the more isolated assemblies to come for a few days. Our desire is to sit down together, open our Bibles and share, learn, and encourage one another. Our family has been so blessed by the sweet fellowship we have enjoyed in the homes of so many dear saints; we want to make sure we keep growing in this area!

Hi Taylor & Alesha,
Great letter. Lovely picture of a place we can say “I’ve been there!” Praise God for the paperwork being behind you. Can’t wait to hear of the future plans, projects – and maybe a little good drama too.
Give the kids a hug. Miss you all.
We are with a clan of missionaries in Michoacán, Mexico as I told Taylor. The weekend camp is just finished and 400 people have left. Now we have 4 days to get to now the 5 families that stay on and celebrate Thanksgiving early – plus some of the kids who are grown and married to Mexicans.
Stay well – get over the gripe! Love, Jim & Sharon
