Thank you to all who were praying with us for the conference this past week; it seems to have been profitable. A dear brother who has worked here for more years than I have been alive has been praying for several years for this to be able to happen. He has worked with the church leaders in each of the communities represented over the years by traveling to see them, but this was a chance for them to come together. Taylor was asked to lead the last meeting of each evening, which consisted of a time to sing hymns together and a devotional talk. Each night, he also arranged for one of the visiting men to give their testimony, after which we sang till around 9:00. We were glad to see our boys step up in various ways. Levi played his banjo every night, often as the only accompaniment. Sometimes Dan joined him on the fiddle, but we wanted to make sure that the emphasis was on singing congregationally, not on sitting and listening to the instruments. The younger boys and I sat scattered out among the group to help the tune along. 🙂 Nate and Noah were a huge help passing out song sheets; by the last night, they even had Gracie handing out pages. We only played a small part in all that went on, but it was a privilege to help and we had a lot of fun. We’re glad to have met up with some old friends and to have made a lot of new contacts within the tribal churches. Please pray for them as they go home and for the situations they have to deal with in their families and assemblies.
